A Place to Play
Modern day creatives are depicted with the perfect minimalistic setup for their at home work place. Picture a large flatscreen monitor with sleek Apple products, a single plant, and some books to let people know you’re educated. This is not that. This is a playful illustration of a creative’s personal space, where magic happens. It’s cluttered with intention, lively, and doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Process
Using mono-weight vector line art and contrasting cool/warm colors, I created a minimalistic look while allowing the eyes to divert to places with detail. The warm and cool contrast creates a vibrant and playful look, while using neutral saturation to keep a pleasant and soft tone. I wanted to create a feeling of nostalgia, referencing colors 90’s-like colors and 90’s technology. This piece is about creating from a happy place.
